SJV Alum to Play Basketball in Israel for Team USA

2011 graduate Jaclyn Kates will play in the Maccabiah Games in Israel.

Jaclyn Kates of Colts Neck will secure her basketball legend when she travels to Isreal to represent Team USA in the Open Women’s basketball division this summer.

According to New Jersey Jewish News, Kates follows in her brother Mitch's footsteps, who traveled to Israal years ago for the games.

Local players Annette Snow of Manalapan and Arron Zimmerman of Wayside will join Kates on the team.

Kates was a lead player at St. John Vianney in Holmdel and is now a successful student at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, according to New Jersey Jewish News.

"Maccabiah takes place every four years in Israel and is the largest event sponsored by the Maccabi World Union and the third-largest international sporting event in the world," NJJN reported.
