Edmund A. Gill, 86, of Holmdel, N.J., passed away peacefully at home on May 12, surrounded by his loving family.  Edmund was born on Feb. 17, 1927, in Kearny, N.J., to Patrick and Mary Gill (nee Carroll). He was a N.J. State Police trooper for 27 years and retired as a lieutenant. Edmund received the Distinguished Service Medal from the governor of New Jersey for his heroic service. He served as a merchant seaman during World War II.
