Hazlet Schools March Update From Bianca Lucarini

The following was written by Bianca Lucarini, Student Board Member, and presented to the Hazlet Board of Education on Feb. 28. 

Hello everyone! The Hazlet District Schools have many exciting events planned for the month ahead. First an announcement to all schools, Progress Reports will be available on the Parent Portal, March 7th. March 17,18,19 will be early dismissal for all students, due to Parent Teacher Conferences.  

Raritan High School students will have HSPA testing March 4th, 5th, and 6th. March 17th Parent Teacher Conference times are from 12:55 pm-2:55 pm. March 18th Conference times are from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm. March 19th Conference times are from 7:00 pm-9:00 pm. Raritan’s Spring Musical, Beauty and The Beast, will be presented on March 27th at 7:00 pm, March 28th at 7:00 pm, and March 29th at 1:00 pm.  

Hazlet Middle School will have a PTO Meeting on Thursday, March 13th at 7:00 pm. HMS will be participating in the annual Spring Hat Parade for the Heavenly Hats Foundation, which donates brand new head wear to cancer patients and hospitals all around the United States. Students and staff members will be asked to donate a minimum of $1.00. Anyone who donates $1.00 is permitted to wear their hat for the day. Conferences times are: March 17 5-7 PM, March 18 7-9 PM and March 19 1:05-2:50 PM.  

Beer Street Elementary students will celebrate Read Across America, Monday, March 3rd- Friday, March 7th. March 7th, will be the Dr.Seuss Movie Day at 3:00 pm. March 17th Parent Teacher Conference times are from 7:00 pm-9:00 pm. March 18th Conference times are from 1:05 pm-2:50 pm. March 19th Conference times are from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm. There will be a PTO Meeting on March 18th at 6:30 pm.  

Cove Road Elementary Progress Reports will be available Thursday, February 27th on the Parent Portal. March 6th, will be The NJ ASK Strategy Fair at Raritan High School at 6:00 pm. March 13th will be the Drama Production Musical at 6:00 pm. March 17,18,19th will be the PTO Book Fair for all students. March 18th, students will celebrate International Day!  

Lillian Drive second grade students will have their concert on February 26th at LDS at 7:00 pm! Fourth grade students are getting a turn at playing school journalists for the school newsletter. Students are interviewing teachers and taking notes of what’s happening in the school to write non-fiction articles for our newsletter audience. We encourage you to read our newsletter to find out what’s new at LDS! March 4th, will be a PTO Meeting at 7:00 pm. March 19th times are from 7:00 pm-9:00 pm.  

Middle Road Elementary students will celebrate the 100th day of school tomorrow! Middle Road School will celebrate Read Across America Day on March 3rd. All students are encouraged to wear a crazy hat in honor of the Cat in the Hat, Dr. Seuss. Our annual Scholastic Book Fair will be held March 17, 18, 19 . It will also be open during Parent Teacher Conference times. The PTO will hold their Annual Auction fundraiser on Friday evening, March 14th.  

Raritan Valley will have Ladies Night on Friday, February 28th at 6:30 pm. March 6th will be Silly Hat Day! March 13th, will be the school Science Fair at 7:00 pm. Parent Teacher Conference Times on March 17th are from 1:45 pm-3:30 pm. March 18th Conference times are from 5:00 pm- 7:00 pm. March 19th Conference times are from 7:00 pm- 9:00 pm. Students will be asked to wear green on March 17th. 

Sycamore Drive Early Childhood Learning Center Seahawks Fundraiser starts on March 3rd. A PTO Meeting will be held on March 5th at 7:30 pm. Friday, March 7th will be Movie Night! March 14th Hawks Fundraiser ends. March 17th, 18th, 19th there will be a the PTO Book Fair for all students! Parent Teacher Conference times for March 17th are from 5:00 pm- 7:00 pm. March 18th Conference times are from 7:00 pm- 9:00 pm. March 19th Conference times are from 1:45 pm- 3:30 pm. HMS students will come to SD ECLC during Read Across America Week (March 3) to read in every classroom.
