UPDATE: Message from Holmdel's Mayor

Automated townwide call on Saturday, August 27.

The following is an update from Holmdel Mayor Pat Imprededuto delivered by automated townwide call on Saturday, August 23  regarding Hurricane Irene.

As you are aware,  a state state of emergency is in effect for Monmouth County and the state of NJ. Please follow instructions of Emergency Management personnel and consider leaving the area at this time.

Please be advised that if this hurricane affects our area as predicted, at some point, Emergency Service response will be severely impacted.  Continue to monitor local TV and radio stations for announcements and continue emergency preparations for personal
preparedness.

A shelter has been established at Holmdel High School. This should be considered as a last resort. For information about the shelter contact the Red Cross Headquarters in Tinton Falls at 732-493-9100.

Emergency Management officials will continue to monitor the situation and issue updates as appropriate.

Please do not call the Police Department unless you have a true emergency. Please be prepared and stay safe.
