Remembrance Day Saturday at Vietnam Veterans Memorial

NJ Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Foundation will hold annual Remembrance Day ceremony, Saturday, May 7 in Holmdel.

On Saturday, May 7, the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation will honor veterans at its annual Remembrance Day ceremony.  It begins at 11:00 a.m. at the Memorial in Holmdel, off Exit 116.  

U.S. Representative Rush Holt will be the featured speaker.

The New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs will award numerous New Jersey State medals, including the New Jersey Distinguished Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal.

In 1991, the New Jersey state legislature designated May 7 as Vietnam Veteran's Remembrance Day to honor the men and women who served in the military from 1959 to 1975.

More than 200,000 New Jersey residents served in the armed forces during that time, according to Holt..

The Vietnam Era Museum & Educational Center, located adjacent to the NJ Vietnam Veteran's Memorial, will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission will be free to all visitors. 

The New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial is located off the Garden State Parkway at exit 116 in Holmdel.
