Thursday's Hazlet Hearing on 48-Unit Development off Poole Canceled

Elegant Properties LLC is looking to develop a 4.5-acre of land.

Testimony on a 48-unit development off Poole Avenue was expected to continue before the Hazlet Planning Board Thursday night, however the meeting was canceled.

Elegant Properties LLC is seeking site plan approval for a townhouse development on 4.5 acres of undeveloped land at 780 Poole Avenue. The parcel is next to the Walgreens on Route 36.

The plans call for four three-story buildings housing the 48 one-, two- and three-bedroom units. The units range in size from 778 square feet for the one-bedroom, 1,492 square feet for the 2-bedrooms, to 1,597 square feet for the three-bedrooms.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Hazlet Planning Board is Thursday, April 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hazlet Township Municipal Building. An agenda for that meeting has not yet been posted and it was not immediately clear if testimony on the Elegant Properties LLC project would continue at that time.

Can the Hazlet fire trucks reach the roof of a 3 story building? 48 units on 4.5 acres is similar to Bangladesh. Could easily add 100 kids to the school system.

if they can't. the developer should be required to purchase them prior to building the units

cant we have any UNDEVELOPED land in this town?

I think we have enough housing in our town. Are taxes are high, and adding 48 more units will just raise our taxes higher. Instead Of Houses, why can't the township make a park for adults and children to enjoy. I for one would use it. I do not feel like driving to Holmdel park to get some fresh air.

I too would love to see more open space and parks in Hazlet, but this would require tax dollars. We do have parks in Hazlet the biggest being Veterans Park, check them out for fresh air.Holmdel Park is a county park, maybe it would be good to have the county turn Natco into a county run park
