Republicans Unopposed in Holmdel Primary

Joe Ponisi and Eric Hinds will run to keep their seats on the Holmdel Township Committee.

Holmdel Democrats didn't step up to the plate this year, leaving Republicans Joe Ponisi and Eric Hinds to run unopposed for Township Committee.

Joe Ponisi (R), who filled the vacant seat left by Serena DiMaso when she joined the Monmouth County Board of Chose Freeholders, has a 25-year career analyzing the finances of municipalities.

Hinds (R), who has served the township has Deputy Mayor and joined the Township Committee in 2011 and is also a finance professional.

Hinds won a Public Servant of the Year award from the Holmdel Journal in 2011.

Independent candidates have until June to register for the general election ballot.
