Holmdel To Hear Housing Proposal For Former Bell Labs Property

Toll Brothers is requesting Preliminary and Final Major Subdivision for a proposed development of 40 single family homes and stormwater basin/buffer areas.

The Holmdel Township Planning Board will hear Toll Brothers' proposal for 40 single-family building lots at Crawfords Corner Road and Roberts Road on a vacant corner of the vast Bell Labs property on Tuesday, June 10 at 7 p.m.

Toll Brothers' plan for "Bell Place at Holmdel: The Estates Collection" calls for "executive single-family customizable homes" situated on 103 acres of the 473-acre campus with the huge former Bell Labs building, which is envisioned to become a mixed use facility.

The proposal will describe how the homes will be built in three phases, along with site improvements such as a storm water basin lot, open space lot and infiltration basin lot.

Tuesday night's meeting will only address plans for the 40 homes, not for the other proposed housing component of 185 age-restricted carriage homes to be situated between the water tower and road ringing the former Bell Labs building.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the meeting room of Town Hall, 4 Crawfords Corner Rd.
