Holmdel Township Administrator Resigns

Andy Katz had been on a leave of absence since Nov. 15

Township Administrator Andy Katz has officially resigned from his position at Holmdel's Town Hall, said Mayor Patrick Impreveduto

Katz's resignation is effective Nov. 29.

Katz had been on a leave of absence for medical reasons since Nov. 15.

The announcement was made at Thursday's Township Committee meeting. A plan for a replacement has not yet been discussed, said Impreveduto.

The governing body's reorganization meeting will be Jan. 2 at 6:30 p.m. Tom Critelli will be joining the five-member Committee, replacing Township Committeeman Larry Fink. At the meeting, Fink will be honored for his many years of service to Holmdel.

Since his absence, Township Clerk Maureen Doloughty has been appointed Interim Township Administrator and is working out of the Administration wing of Town Hall.

Katz was hired in September 2011 by the township after an extensive search for an administrator. He replaced Interim Administrator Ray Wilson.

Wish him a speedy return to health.

Perhaps this explains the poor results of our Sandy road clean-up operations? Holmdel pales in comparison to surrounding communities. This has NEVER happened before.

All the best to Mr. Katz and hope he returns to good health. Holmdel seems to have no luck retaining administrators, but Maureen is our rock. Good luck Mo, don't foget to eat lunch, you're too thin already! Hit some good Italian place, why donchya.

Thank you Tony. I'll do my best
