The Holmdel Planning Board gave unanimous preliminary and final site plan approval to Toll Brothers to build 185 age-restricted townhouses to be built at the former Bell Labs corporate campus on Crawfords Corner Road.

The site is on an approximately 134-acre portion of the 473-acre tract located to the south side of Crawfords Corner Road and the east side of Roberts Road and Middletown Road.

The development will be constructed in two phases. To begin, 108 new age-restricted carriage homes, a clubhouse and recreational facilities, infiltration basin and a wet pond will be built on 65 acres of the east side of the existing campus driveway.

In the second part, 77 new age-restricted homes and two infiltration basins will be constructed on 70 acres.

The homes are the second housing component to be approved on the site. The Planning Board has also approved the construction of 40 luxury homes in a section near Roberts Road.

It protects the unique character of Holmdel through the redevelopment plan, it protects the taxpayer with an enhanced tax base. Your turn..what would you and your CILU friends have done with the Lucent Property?

I thought thought the plan where the building and housing were contiguous and mostly within The Oval was FAR superior to this latest plan which destroys the views, open spaces and has a detrimental effect on Holmdel's drinking water. The Mayor and Mr. Hinds both ran for office on a pledge of NOT doing exactly what they ARE doing. I don't recall if the plan I mention was before or after that whole "Elsie Sterling" farce.

I cannot speak on behalf of CILU. I am only a member, not an officer.

Thanks Carol...same scare tactics, and same lies..

I am telling the truth as I know it. If you have to stoop to this level, I will no longer communicate with you.
