Committeeman Pascucci's Letter of Withdrawal From November 8 Election

The Holmdel Committeeman's official announcement as to why he will not be running again in November.

In this letter sent to Holmdel Township Clerk Maureen Doloughty, two-term Holmdel Republican Party Township Committeeman Rocco Pascucci explains that he must withdraw his candidacy from the November 8 election due to the demands of his medical practice.

Pascucci is a pediatrician with an office in Hazlet.

Pascucci and Mayor Patrick Impreveduto, both Republicans, had previously announced in the spring that they would run again for re-election for the Republican-dominated 5-member Committee to retain their 3-year seats. The other Republican Committeepersons are Serena DiMaso and Eric Hinds. A Democrat, Larry Fink, is also on the Committee.

Last week, the Holmdel Republicans announced Planning Board Vice Chairman Greg Buontempo will take Pascucci's place on the ballot. Impreveduto and Buontempo will face Holmdel Democrats Anish Kumar and Brian McFarland.

In the letter, which Pascucci shared with Patch, he says he will not miss the frustrations of partisan politics.
