Bethany Road Parkway Overpass To Undergo Repairs

Daytime closures for routine maintenance.

The Bethany Road bridge over the Garden State Parkway, between Cresci Boulevard/Hillcrest Road and North Beers Street, will be closed during the daytime for routine maintenance.

New Jersey Turnpike Authority will be performing repair work to the bridge deck.

Large illuminated signs began warning of the closures last week. The work will begin on or about Tuesday July 5 and may continue through July 22.

Although one lane will remain be open for emergency vehicles only, the road will be closed during the day and reopen at night.

The work is not related to, to begin later in the summer. "Our project has nothing to do with it," said Bonnie Heard, an engineer at T & M Associates who works on Holmdel projects. "It's just a coincidence."
