Matawan Fire Department Remembers Ed Wyckoff For Lifetime of Service

The funeral for Edward Wyckoff was held Saturday at the Bedle Funeral Home in Matawan. Wyckoff was the former Captain of the Matawan Fire Police and member of Midway Hose Company Number 2 of the Matawan Borough Fire Department.

The Matawan Borough Fire Department paid their respects to lifetime member Ed Wyckoff on Saturday, Dec. 17 during a procession that began at Home in Matawan and finished at his final resting place in .

The procession stopped at Midway Hose Company No. 2 in Matawan, where Wyckoff served as a First Assistant Engineer. Wyckoff's boots, hat and fire coat were displayed as firefighters stood at attention.

Wyckoff, 64, in Matawan on Dec. 11. In 1971, Wyckoff joined the Matawan Borough Fire Department. He completed Fire College and Firefighter Certification in 1978 and held First Assistant Engineer with Midway Hose Company Number 2. He continued his dedication to helping others by joining the Matawan Borough Fire Police, where he served as a captain.
