Keansburg Man Indicted for Assaulting Bayshore Hospital Worker

Incident was on August 26.

A Monmouth County Superior Court Grand Jury decided on Dec. 22 that Raymond Mulhern, 48, of Port Monmouth should face charges for assaulting a medical worker at Bayshore Community Hospital Emergency Dept. The date of the incident was August 26, 2011.

Mulhern was arrested by Holmdel Police and charged for simple assault and disorderly conduct, but charges were upgraded by the county Prosecutor to aggravated assault. In a legal document, Mulhern was accused of "attempting to cause, or purposely, knowingly or recklessly causing bodily injury to G.G. and/or C.N., a person engaged with emergency first aid."

Aggravated assault is a fourth degree crime.
