Hazlet Police Answered 1,523 Calls in August

The department reported 107 crime related incidents and 51 non-crime related incidents, with 70 adult arrests and four juvenile arrests.

The Hazlet Township Police Department responded to 1,523 calls in July, according to its monthly report issues to the Mayor and Township Committee. That number rose by a little less than 100 since July.

The department published the report on its active Facebook page for residents. According to the report, 228 offenses were committed including 48 felonies.

The department reported 107 crime related incidents and 51 non-crime related incidents, with 70 adult arrests and four juvenile arrests.

There were 14 incidents of domestic violence in August, which resulted in eight arrests.

Officers stopped 592 vehicles and issues 407 moving violations, arrested six on DWI charges and investigated 68 accidents. Of those accidents, five were considered hit-and-run.

Hazlet Police were called to 18 burglary calls and eight shoplifting incidents.
