Obituary: Jean Williams, 77, of Hazlet

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 31.

Jean A. Williams, 77, of Hazlet, passed away on January 29 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, NJ. She was born in Riveside, RI. Before retiring, Jean worked for Prudential Insurance in Holmdel. She was a proud member of the Golden Agers Bowling League, where she was more often than not the High Average. Jean loved sports, she was an avid bowler and could toss horseshoes with the best of them. She always had a smile and loved a good joke. Jean, or "Nana", as she is most affectionately known, lived for her grandchildren, she adored each and every one of them. 

Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Robert Williams; her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Stacy Williams; her three daughters, Kathleen Williams, Karen Williams, and Nancy and her husband Maurice Castro; and her grandchildren, Robert Williams Jr., Ava Castro, and Ethan Castro.

Jean was preceded in death by parents, Paul and Frances Hunt, and her brother, Paul Hunt.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 31 from 3 to 5 pm and from 7 to 9 pm at the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, February 1 at 11 am at the funeral home.  Guests are asked to arrive between 10 and 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet.
