Beloved Holmdel Spanish Teacher Dies at Age 34

The passing of a young Satz Middle School teacher has shocked Holmdel's School District.

Eric Hauser, 34 of Eatontown taught with the district for 11 years as a spanish teacher. He was just shy of receiving a masters degree from Monmouth University.

"Last Friday, we were all shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Eric Hausser, beloved Satz Spanish teacher. On behalf of the Board, I would like to invite you to join us in honoring him by observing a moment of silence at Tuesday's Board of Education meeting at 8 p.m. Afterwards, we welcome you to share your special memories of Señor Hausser," said Board President Ana Vander Woude in a statement to the district.

Eric Scott Hausser passed away peacefully on Thursday June 20th 2013 with his loving family by his side. Born in Philadelphia, he was a life long resident of Bordentown before moving to Eatontown in 2006.

Eric had a love for languages especially Spanish, studying abroad in Granada Spain. He graduated with Honors in Spanish from the University of Delaware and was just shy of receiving his Masters Degree in Special Education from Monmouth University. Eric was employed as a Spanish teacher with William R. Satz Middle School located in Holmdel NJ for the past 11 years.

He was a member of the Holmdel Education Association, Monmouth County Education Association, New Jersey Education Association and National Education Association.

Eric is predeceased by his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Melville Hausser and Mr. & Mrs. Mario Tempesta, his Uncle Mr. Quentin Hausser; he is survived by his parents, Barry G. and Margarite Hausser, his sister and brother-in-law, Heather and Edward O’Malley, his Uncles Gerald Tempesta & Michael Weishapl, his Aunt, Nannette Hausser, his niece and nephew, Lily Grace and Riley Brenton, his special friends, Angelique Olmo and Anthony Aberin,

A Celebration of Eric’s life will be commemorated on Tuesday June 25 at 11 a.m. at The Bordentown Home for Funerals 40 Crosswicks St. Bordentown with Rev. Robin E. Lostetter officiating. Guest’s may call on Monday evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday morning 10 a.m. until time of Celebration at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eric’s memory to the Eric Scott Hausser Scholarship fund c/o William R. Satz Middle School, 24 Crawfords Corner Rd Holmdel, NJ 07733 (732) 946-1808.
