Valentine's Day - Show a Cancer Survivor How You Love Them

Relay for Life hosts first Captain's Meeting of the year, Wednesday February 15th, 7 pm

Today is Valentine's Day or as I see it as a wife and mother, Valentine's Week.

We started celebrating on Saturday night with dinner with some friends and all the kids.  We had great laughs and made some lovely memories without having to order from the Prix Fix Menu and watching Googoo Gaga Lovers fawn over one another.

I love Valentine's Day as I see it as a special day to remind those close to you, how much you care for them.  It's not just for lovers, but for your children, your friends and those who maybe we take for granted?

However, Valentine's Day can last year round and what better way to honour a friend or relative who is dealing with cancer, has survived cancer, or who has passed on after fight cancer than becoming a part of the Relay for Life Hazlet in June?!

I know June seems so far away but it's not, only 3 1/2 months until we light our sign of "HOPE" and kick off our Relay with a Lap of Survivors and Celebrate, Fight Back, and Remember and we are already knee high in the planning and are so excited to share all the activities and ceremonies with everyone.

We had a successful kick-off event in January and on Wednesday February 15th at Raritan High School, we are having another Planning Committe Meeting at 6 pm and following immediately after will be our Captain's Meeting at 7 pm.

Captains will be given more fundraising information, theme information, and of course answers for any possible questions.

If you are interested in having a team at this year's Relay for Life, Wednesday's Captain's meeting would be a great meeting to attend.  We encourage and invite all to attend (you do not have to be a Hazlet resident).  As always, we invite you to join us on Facebook Relay for Life of Hazlet and Twitter @RFLHazletNJ
