Holmdel Girl Scouts Help Castle of Dreams Animal Rescue
When Holmdel Girl Scout troop 1874 Cadettes were asked what they wanted to do as a community service project for their Silver award, the first thing each girl mentioned was “Help Animals”. When asked which animal group they wanted to help, they all said Castle of Dreams Animal Rescue.
Since the fall, the Cadettes have volunteered at the monthly Pet Adoptions Days in Hazlet, Holmdel, & Middletown. They had a great time walking dogs, interacting with foster families, and helping wherever needed. They were a big help, but these wonderful girls wanted to do more.
With the help of Castle of Dreams volunteer coordinator, Evelyn King, the Cadettes put together a list of items needed by the rescue and went to work planning a Supply Drive for the dogs at their school W.R. Satz in Holmdel.

The Cadettes organized & ran their 1st drive and collected over four bins of blankets, collars, leashes, cleaning supplies, wee wee pads, paper towels, bedding and more. This Supply Drive was a great success. The Girl Scout Cadettes then got together with Ms. King and had fun delivering these much needed supplies to Castle of Dreams in Keyport. These items will go a long way to help support homeless dogs as they search for their forever family.
