Week Ahead: Costume Exchange, Breast Cancer Prevention Event

A look at meeting and events in the Holmdel and Hazlet areas this week.

Monday, Oct. 1

County Parks Costume Exchange at Thomas Park

Drop off your gently used childrens', adults' and pets' costumes during the day between Oct. 1 and 5, and the morning of Oct. 6. You will receive a token for each one. With that token you can return on the afternoon of Sunday, Oct. 7 to get "new-to-you" costumes.

Tie-Dye Workshop

Head over to the Hazlet Township Library at 6:30 p.m. for an afternoon of creativity. Wear old clothes and bring a clean white 100% cotton t-shirt, pillow case, sneakers or socks. Please limit two items per person. This program is for teens in sixth grade and up. Please register at library, 732-264-7164.

Hazlet Environmental Commission Meeting

The mission of the Hazlet Environmental Commission is the preservation and protection of our natural resources to ensure a better quality of living for our generation and those to come. The commission will meet at 8 p.m..

Debate Watch Party in Hazlet

Join the Monmouth County Democrats for a Presidential Debate Watch Party U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ). Hear what the Senator has to say about the upcoming election & watch President Obama face off against Mitt Romney in 2012's 1st Presidential Debate. The event will run from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m..

Thursday, Oct. 4

Holmdel Township Council Meeting

The Holmdel Township Committee holds its public meetings in the Meeting Room of the Municipal Building at 7 p.m.. The current agenda, and meeting cancellations, can be found on the Agenda and Minutes page of the Township website.

Clean Ocean Action's Seaside Sunset

Environmentalists, music, food and drink will set the stage for the 14th Annual Seaside Sunset event to benefit for Clean Ocean Action (COA). The event is considered a great opportunity for local businesses to demonstrate their support of a clean and healthy ocean.
