Water Distribution Continues Sunday

Both Middletown high schools and the Wolf Hill Recreation Area in Oceanport will serve as water distribution stations.

The Monmouth County Office of Emergency Management will continue distributing water on Sunday to residents affected by the regional water emergency.

A water main at the New Jersey American Water’s water treatment plant at the Swimming River Reservoir in Middletown failed on Friday at 12:45 p.m., leading to a temporary loss of water for some Middletown and Holmdel residents and a county-wide boil water advisory Saturday evening. The boil water alert was revised on Saturday morning to include 22 towns: Aberdeen, Allenhurst, Deal, Eatontown, Fair Haven, Highlands, Holmdel, Little Silver, Loch Arbor, Long Branch, Middletown, Monmouth Beach, Neptune, Oceanport, Ocean Township, Rumson, Sea Bright, Shrewsbury Borough, Shrewsbury Township Tinton Falls, and West Long Branch.

Three locations will open for water distribution on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The locations will remain open until the supply is depleted. There is a limit of one case of water per vehicle.
