A roundup of events and useful information for Holmdel Township residents.

1. Spring is coming: Today we might not crack 44 degrees, but look ahead to Thursday. It will be sunny, breezy, with a high near 64, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Planning Board meeting, 7pm: The owner of the Holmdel Towne Center is asking for approval to install a new front door to access vacant space next to the space now occupied by the Jos. A. Banks clothing store. Also, this item: Response to the County’s Request for Review and Comment on the NJDEP’s Wastewater Estimator Build-Out Projections for Holmdel Township. 3. Holmdel Boys Basketball team goes to Championships. Following their spectacular win against Point Boro (66-58) on Saturday in the semifinals of the State Sectional tournament, the team travels to Ewing tonight for a 7pm game playoff. It is their first appearance in the NJSIAA Tournament Sectional Finals
for Central Jersey Group II in 13 years, according to the school district website. Students can take a fan bus to the game for only $2. Sign up in the Athletic Office. Directions to Ewing HS will also be available for those who plan to drive.

4. Domestic Violence volunteers needed by Police Dept. In conjunction with 180 Turning Lives Around. The 40-hour intensive, mandatory training course will be provided to successful applicants at no cost. 180 will be conducting the four-week training April 16th to May 9th, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings, 6:00-9:30pm, in the Hazlet Township Municipal Building. Applications available at the Holmdel PD.

5. Traffic and Gas. Don't forget about the ongoing construction at Crawfords Corner Road near the high school. If you venture there, you'll be forced to take a detour around it. Also, the cheapest gas in Holmdel today is $3.58 gallon at Racestar, at Holmdel and Bethany Roads.
