Bayshore Recycling Corporation, Colonel John Boulé, Captain David J. Harrison, Dr. Beth Ravit, and Frank Steimle to Receive Awards

Keyport, New Jersey – August 6, 2012:  On Sunday, September 23rd, 2012, NY/NJ Baykeeper will hold its 16th Annual Clambake at the Chapel at Fort Hancock on Sandy Hook.  The Clambake honors the accomplishments of environmental leaders and public servants whose work benefits the environment.  The 2012 awardees are:

  • Bayshore Recycling Corporation, for the Spirit of Baykeeper, Environmental Excellence Award Recipient
  • Colonel John Boulé, District Commander, New York District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Captain David J. Harrison, Commanding Officer, Naval Weapons Station Earle for Outstanding Public Service
  • Beth Ravit, Ph.D., Co-Director of the Rutgers University Center for Urban Environmental Sustainability and Frank Steimle, Scientific Advisor for the NY/NJ Baykeeper Oyster Program for the Nancy Zimmerman Memorial “Running with Scissors” Award

Executive Director and Baykeeper, Debbie Mans said, "Our honorees share our passion for working to protect, preserve and restore the Hudson-Raritan Estuary.  Baykeeper’s annual Clambake is an opportunity to thank them for their tireless work and to celebrate our victories.  Our work is made possible by our generous donors, in particular those who attend the Clambake.”
