TWO ACCOUNTANTS JOIN THE FIRM OF BERNICKER, EIGER & COMPANY, CPA, LLC

Hazlet, N.J., November 27, 2013—Bernicker, Eiger & Company, CPA, LLC has announced the appointment of two accountants, effective immediately.

Michael Friedman has joined the firm as a senior accountant. In this position, Mike will work directly with clients and will be responsible for supervising junior staff. He has more than 25 years of experience serving clients in a variety of industries. Mike is knowledgeable about financial accounting and reporting and proficient in tax preparation, tax consulting and research. He worked with Bernicker Eiger for the past seven years during tax season. Prior to joining Bernicker Eiger, Mike was employed by an accounting firm in East Brunswick, N.J. He has his bachelor’s of science in accounting from The College of New Jersey. Mike resides in Manalapan, N.J., with his wife Kim, and their sons, Ryan and Andrew.

Katharine Cogan, CPA, has joined Bernicker, Eiger as a senior accountant. Katharine has more than 10 years of experience in public accounting and internal audit.  She is proficient in income tax return and financial statement preparation and review.  Katharine is highly skilled in tax planning and strategizing, research of tax and accounting pronouncements, internal control evaluation, and compliance examination.  She was previously an accountant at a Spring Lake-based accounting firm. A graduate of York College of Pennsylvania, Katharine is a member of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She lives in Middletown, N.J., with her husband Tom, and their children, Caroline and Thomas.
