Holmdel Historian George Joynson Tells His Own Story

Township historian leads lively historical appreciation group, and writes books. He was featured in this month's publication of "Living In Holmdel."

Holmdel Township's active historian George Joynson is profiled in this month's issue of "Living In Holmdel." 

Joynson talks about his passion for genealogy and local history. He discusses his his two books, "Murders in Monmouth" and "Wicked Monmouth  County."

Joynson hosts monthly meetings of the Holmdel Historical Society, which are open to the public. Recent meetings have included discussions of Holmdel Township graveyards, Dr. Cooke's Medical Office, The Gideon & Daly Racetrack at today's Cross Farm Park.

The next meeting is November 15 at 7 pm at the Holmdel Senior/Community Center. The guest speaker is Robert Szychowski of Three Dog Time & Light Antiques in Englishtown, who will give a presentation on antique lighting. Attendees can bring their own lamps for help with identification. The lecture is free.
