Holmdel's Bear Den #5 gets put in the pen

A group of innocent-looking Scouts got a taste of life in the slammer last night.

As their mothers looked on in amusement and snapped lots of photos, the membership of Holmdel Pack 331, Bear Den #5 got to see life from behind bars.

The moment in the Holmdel Police holding cell, and a tour of the police station, was all for the sake of their education.  They are working on an achievement called "Law Enforcement Is a Big Job."  The scouts learned from Patrolman Jonathan Martin how police officers work to help protect the citizens. Back at their Den with leader Darlene Seaman, the scouts will learn what they can do to help prevent crime.

The den's eight boys attend Village School's third grade. Some had brought their siblings along too for the unforgettable thrill.
