Back to School Dates to Remember in Holmdel

School is coming up sooner than you think. Calendars for the 2013-14 year have been approved and are available on the district website. 

School dates to remember in Holmdel:

  • Sept. 4: First day of school
  • Sept. 5: Rosh Hashana, schools closed
  • Nov. 5: Election day, schools closed
  • Nov. 7-8: NJEA Convention, schools closed
  • Nov. 27: Half day
  • Nov. 28-29: Thanksgiving recess
  • Dec. 20: Half day
  • Dec. 23-Jan. 1: Winter break
  • Jan. 20: Martin Luther King Jr. Day, schools closed
  • Jan. 31: Chinese New Year, schools closed
  • Feb. 14: Half day
  • Feb. 17: President's Day, schools closed
  • March 28: Half day
  • April 11: Half day
  • April 14-18: Spring break
  • May 23 and 26: Memorial Day weekend, schools closed
  • June 19: Last day of school.
The calendar includes three days for emergency/inclement weather closings. If more than three days are needed, May 23 will be open for school.  A second day will mean April 14 will become a four-hour session and a third day will open schools on April 16. 

Unused emergency/inclement weather days:
  • One unused day: Close on April 21
  • Two unused days: Close on May 22
  • Three unused days: Close on May 27
