School is coming up sooner than you think. Calendars for the 2013-14 year have been approved and are available on the district website. 

School dates to remember in Hazlet

  • Sept. 6: First day of school
  • Oct. 14: Columbus Day, schools closed
  • Oct. 21-23: Parent/teacher conferences, half days
  • Nov. 4-8: Fall recess, schools closed
  • Nov. 27: Half day
  • Nov. 28-29: Thanksgiving recess, schools closed
  • Dec. 13: Half day
  • Dec. 23-Jan. 1: Winter recess
  • Jan. 17: Half day
  • Jan. 20: Martin Luther King Jr. Day, schools closed
  • Feb. 14: Half day
  • Feb. 17: President's Day, schools closed
  • March 17-19: Parent/teacher conferences, half days
  • April 4: Half day
  • April 14-18: Spring break
  • May 26: Memorial Day
  • June 20: Half Day
  • June 23: Last day for students
Three emergency/inclement weather days are built into the calendar. If more than three days are necessary, a day will be added to the end of the calendar. 

Unused emergency/inclement weather days:
  •  1 day unused: School will be closed on April 21 Last day of school remains the same. 
  • 2 days unused: School closed April 21. Last day for students will be June 20.
  • 3 days unused: School closed April 21, 2014. Last day for students-June 19.
