Absolutely right Jennifer.... one of those drivers ran a red light. Which one? most likely the one heading east on 37. The one coming out of the BJs driveway (and making a left onto 37 west) would have to be REAL stupid to run a red light and cross in front of 3 lanes of traffic heading towards them.

ReplyI have family members in Silverton who also lost their home of 28 yrs to 4' flood waters. Same story.... no clue how or when they will be getting money to start rebuilding, no clue yet if they need to start from the foundation up, or is the foundation still sound (inspected more than 3 weeks ago, no decision, yet), they get checks willy nilly in small amounts with no idea what the total will be when all is said and done. How do they start? What are their options to rebuilding? They are told by one person their home needs to be rebuilt an additional 3-3.5 feet higher than it is now.... but what if they don't want to live in a house that's 8-9 feet off the ground when there are people in the home who might not be able to handle steps?
Can they sell this home as is, repay what's owed on the mortgage (not much) and move elsewhere? Well, they were told if they put the home up for sale, they'll get no more $$ for repairs and rebuilding. WHAT?? The whole ordeal is a mess. -

ReplyAdding regulations and limiting weapon numbers and gun types considered "home protection" weapons is NOT THE SAME as "banning guns" or "abolishing the 2nd amendment". So, let's stop with the exaggerations and hysteria.
If you want to keep guns in your home for some delusion of personal safety against the horrors of your neighborhood and the world at large- FINE.
Just keep them in your home. Period.
Do not bring them out into public playgrounds, malls, grocery stores, parking garages, theaters, schools and sports fields, concerts, beaches, libraries, museums or anywhere public.
In your own home, I frankly don't care what happens to YOU, your family, or even your kids with that gun- your business, your risk. Go for it.
But as soon as your gun leaves your home it becomes MY/OUR business and MY/OUR concern. NO (repeal all) carry & conceal laws- ASAP.
Implement MANDATORY alarm/tracking devices on every single legally owned gun in every home. Don't comply? Guns confiscated and permits rescinded. -

I can debate and discuss a wide range of topics with an open mind - with just about anyone. The only thing I have little patience for and feel strongly about is Trolls with passive aggressive posting habits who ruin every comment section with personal insults and inflammatory remarks; all the while claiming (Oh so innocently!) they are "just voicing an opinion".
It really bugs me that the Patch doesn't do anything about deleting that nonsense. -

LOL Great! you pull into what is probably THE most dangerous parking lot in Ocean County (thanks to 85 yr old seniors packing the lot and Holiday City across the street) , to make an illegal left turn. Nice.
How about you just go the extra block and take the jug handle like a grown up?
