Wow a really great review but also a great tribute to a wonderful Father/Daughter relationship. Your dad should be proud to have raised such a warm caring daughter. The commercial says cotton is the fabric of our lives, but I say its music. It is everywhere and holds ever emotion. The Beach Boys certainly cover the spectrum of emotions. Love the Beach Boys...forever. You're a really good writer too.

As President of the Holmdel Creative Arts Association (HCAA), I'd like to congratulate all our Art Students. They have done a beautiful, inspiring job on this mural and so representative of our students. Since 2000 The HCAA has gifted about $100,000 to the arts at Holmdel High School. We gift to all the schools in the district anything related to the arts including Drama/Acting, Photography, Ceramics, Fine Arts and Graphic Design. We are the parent group for the Arts in our district. You are invited to learn more about us at the district website - www.holmdelschools.org. Please join our group and help us continue supporting the Arts in Holmdel! - Mary Pomarico

The Kids do a great job every year. Once again this year we will be presenting the "Roger Benedict Award of Film Making Excellence" to a deserving HS Filmmaker. This award is in honor of Roger Benedict who taught at Holmdel for 37 years. This award was started five years ago and we continue the tradition to remind students each year what he did for Holmdel Students bringing a Film and TV Program to our school. - One of the first in the state. The award is for a 3 minute film that depicts the life of a Holmdel Student.

David Kaiserman has picked up where Roger left off when he retired three years ago. David has built on the foundation making the program even stronger. Mr. Kaiserman has pushed the students to new heights. We hope he continues at Holmdel High School for many years, we are lucky to have such a dedicated teacher.

The Holmdel Creative Arts Association will be providing free Popcorn courtesy of the Aberdeen Movie Theater. So come out and enjoy a fun night - all for FREE!

Wow Steve, great insight. You're so right. I forgot about the huge surplus they took to balance some budget a few years back. Let it be said right here too that the pool was run so well for so many years by the Csulak's - both Inez and Frank (Jr) and they are really the reason its been so well taken care of. I hope it continues to be taken care of now that they have moved on. They ran a tight ship! And yes it needs a new building so badly.

Since my kids don't swim any more, we stopped the membership. But there are days that I would like to go up and just pay a daily rate. I think that should be allowed for Holmdel Resident's only without having to be someone's guest, which you don't always want to do. Thanks for taking this on Cathy. It is a great place. My husband's family was one of the early Holmdel resident's that started the pool. Prior to Holmdel having a a community pool everyone went out to YMCA in Marlboro. We should keep it going and make it a profit center. It is the most beautiful pool in Monmouth County.

I'm proud of our young Holmdel residents actually standing up for something that is so valuable. My father in law - Vincent Pomarico was the tax assessor here for 30 years - maybe some of you remember him. He always said to me that the least expensive thing for a township is to have OPEN SPACE and he was a huge republican. So this cause is not one sided. Yes we should be saving something for our future - or do you want Holmdel to look like Staten Island with no space left for breathing or living. Good for you Holmdel Students - keep caring, I'm proud to know you. Good for Holmdel Teachers that are encouraging our students to stand up for their beliefs. The fact remains if we sell off open space this year and have a budget deficit next year - are we selling off more then? I don't know about you but my household budget doesn't work that way.

So glad the original hornet was saved and then updated. This was thanks to Michael Pomarico, member of the first graduating class of 1974. When he was doing the Holmdel High School History show - "Coming Home Again," we discovered there were about 10 different hornets floating about the high school. Michael brought the original one to the administration. They were convinced that it was really important use the original as history is very important. Mr. Csulak then took the original and updated it - beautifully! Mr. Csulak, your art work is terrific!
