ReplyTeresa I completely agree - so refreshing to get too much information about a situation. The staff at Village did an excellent job keeping our students safe and the parents informed.

ReplyWell said Lynn. Bob - At BOE meeting one parent suggested some of this cost be gathered by fundraising efforts. Maybe this is something HFEE could look into?

On the article Ethics Violations Charge Lodged Against Three Holmdel School Board Members

ReplyThe first hour of the meeting brought attention to productive concerns about food and drinks sold in our schools and the security of our children. It is very disheartening to learn that instead of working together and finding solutions to these very important issues concerning the safety of our children, our board (or at least one member) believes time is better served filing claims of ethics violations. It was revealed at the meeting that BOE business has come to a veritable standstill as these secretive violations run their way through our court system. I would like to believe that the horrible events in Newtown have taught us that nothing is more important than the safety of our children. As far as I am concerned our children’s safety is being compromised by these secretive violations inasmuch as time that is wasted and the lack of communication between Board members. The Board has some important issues to deal with - I appeal to the Board Member who has brought these charges to think about the children and drop these charges so the Board can function and carry out their important duties of providing the students of Holmdel a safe environment to learn. I plead with the Board to put aside their personal petty differences and work together in an environment where questions of any nature are viewed as healthy and productive, not matters that need to be litigated through the court.

In response to the message left by Barbara Garity - Please - I know Anna and Dennis personally they are two thoughtful and measured people that would not have questioned something unless they had real concern. I am very troubled about what is going on and I think the people of the town deserve to know more details. Anna is an attorney and Dennis is a law enforcement officer - I could not think of two people less likely to fabricate an incident. I stand by these two and plan on attending the next board meeting.

ReplyThey had to consult with four schools on having no tests the first day of school? Isn't that common sense? We have been out 2 weeks - my kids forgot everything!
