As a pottery artisan, wine aficionado, foodie fanatic, follower of fashion, rock and roll chick, wife, mom and indie author, I dished the nitty-gritty details doctors leave out in my first book, “Does This Outfit Make Me Look Bald? How a Fashionista Fought Breast Cancer with Style,” a witty and okay-to-laugh-out loud journey through the unmentionables of breast cancer. No niceties here – I kept it real - from chemo brain and the torment of the unofficially yet aptly named Nipple Torture Test to red pee and drop foot.

Diagnosed for the first time at the age of 38 and then again five and a half years later (yes, really) - I began documenting my journey in both Confessions from the Chemo Chair and Chemo Girl’s Words of Wisdom online.

Today, I am cancer-free but will remain in treatment throughout the remainder of 2013. I frequently speak at cancer centers, schools, libraries, and awareness events about my experience and I am so excited to now be a regular contributor to the Marlboro-Colts Neck Patch in the Local Voices section. I hope you’ll join me for the ride.
