Woman Charged with Drug Possession in Hazlet; Burglary in Union Beach

She is facing a total of five drug-related charges in Hazlet as well as burglary and theft charges in Union Beach.

A Monmouth County woman is facing drug and theft charges out of Hazlet and Union Beach after two unrelated incidents, according to court documents.  Lindsay Krieck, 24, identified as both a resident of West Keansburg and Toms River, is facing five total counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance from a March 3 arrest in Hazlet. She is charged with four counts of possession of suboxone and one count of possession of heroine. Bail was set at $1,000 with a ten percent cash option.  Krieck is also facing charges out of the Union Beach Municipal Court that on Feb. 28 she allegedly entered a home and stole personal items belonging to the resident. She is accused of fleeing the scene when she allegedly knew police were on their way…

Sandy Relief Aid: Keansburg and Union Beach Among Communities to Receive Financial Assistance

Middletown, Manalapan, Beach Haven, Neptune and Oceanport top the list so far; more money to come from $60 billion federal relief bills just passed by Congress

More than $780 million in disaster assistance has been approved to speed recovery in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy - and some of the beneficiaries are hardhit Bayshore communities. It's not yet clear how the money will be spent - and how the additional $60 billion aid package, which the U.S. Senate gave its seal of approval Monday evening, will be dispursed. Middletown tops the list of funding recipients so far (see chart below), according to the state Office of Emergency Management. The town has received a total of $2,315,482.91. Keansburg and Union Beach were included in the aid package and were allocated $791,175.00 and $448,842.93, respectively. Keyport, which lost several homes and local businesses, was allocated $38,250.00. The …

Crash That Injured Holmdel Police Officer Yields Indictment

Jack H. Wegman was allegedly under the influence of marijuana when he crashed into a police car at a DWI checkpoint.

A Monmouth County grand jury voted to indict Jack H. Wegman, 18, of Union Beach on charges he assaulted a Holmdel Police Officer with a vehicle at a DWI checkpoint in October 2012. On Oct. 7, 2011 at approximately 11:42 p.m., officers from the Holmdel Police Department, the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office and the Brielle Police Department were in the process of preparing a DWI checkpoint on Route 35 just north of Centerville Road. Holmdel Patrolman Michael Michalski observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed toward the checkpoint and not slowing down in response to the warning lights and police vehicles at the scene, according to the press release.
