Holmdel Police Blotter: Thefts from Kohl's, A&P and at Petsmart

Sneakers, Levi's, and shopping carts full of food are reported stolen in the pre- Hurricane Sandy crime blotter.

The following information was released by Holmdel Police on Nov. 12. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. Unless noted, all were taken to police headquarters, processed and released with a court date Oct. 24: Aaron Newson, 19, of Lawrence Ave. in Keansburg was charged with shoplifting a fleece pullover and wallet, valued at a total of $68, from Kohl's in Holmdel. Newson had allegedly tried to exit the store with the pullover wrapped around his leg, under his pants, and the wallet in his pocket. He was arrested by Sgt. Michael Hughes.  Oct. 24: Police arrested two people for shoplifting sneakers from Kohl's, which was reported to police after an employee located an empty shoe box with a pair of wire cutters inside and alerted security…

Holmdel Police Blotter: Sept. 10 - Oct. 2

Police investigating reported theft of $50,000 worth of jewelry from a Holmdel residence.

The following information was recently released by the Holmdel Police Dept. An arrest is not a conviction.  Holmdel Police are investigating the reported theft of approximately $50,000 worth of jewelry from a home on Longview Drive during the months of August and September. Police are currently interviewing contractors who were working at the home during this time. It is being reported now because the owners say they have just become aware it is missing. Sept. 7: Items were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked on East Lawn Drive during the night. Taken was a GPS unit, eyewear, and golf clubs.  Sept. 10:  Two Cliffwood Beach residents were arrested and charged with shoplifting from Kohls in Holmdel. Shirley Stedman, 43, and …

their in-house security must actually be doing a pretty good job because they are able to catch these people. they have no choice but to call the police in order to report the crime and charge a person.   more ›

Holmdel Police Blotter: August Arrests, Thefts

Cash, fishing poles, an iPad, and even a storage cart went missing earlier this month.

The following information was released by the Holmdel Police Dept. An arrest is not a conviction.    August 2: A front desk assistant in a medical office on Route 35 admitted to police she pocketed patient co-pay funds for “gas money.”  Danielle Reynolds, 29 of Keyport was charged with theft of $220, pending a court date. August 2: Garrett W. Nilan, 18, of Brick Township was arrested by Holmdel Police for criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. His alleged drunken behavior at Bayshore Community Hospital Emergency Room required police intervention. At police headquarters, Nilan smashed his head against the wall behind the bench in the processing room and caused a 6” crack in the sheetrock. He was released to his father pending a court …

Holmdel Police Blotter: July 26-28

The following arrest information was supplied by the Holmdel Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

  July 26: Ptl. John Maguire was dispatched to Kohls Department store in Holmdel for a report of a shoplifting incident. After speaking with Kohls Loss Prevention, Jarad Rivera, 18 years old, of Hazlet NJ was arrested for allegedly stealing earrings. Rivera was processed and released pending a court date. July 28: The Holmdel Police report a criminal mischief incident that occurred on July 28 on Northampton Drive. The victim reported that sometime during the night unknown subject(s) keyed his 2010 Nissan Altima. The Holmdel Police Detective Bureau is investigating.

Holmdel Police Blotter: April 28-29

The following arrest information was supplied by the Holmdel Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

April 27: Damage to an electrical panel used to control lights at the basketball and baseball fields at Phillips Park was reported to Holmdel Police on Friday by the township Parks and Recreation Dept. The cost for an electrician to repair the unit was $2,000.  Patrolman John Maguire noted that the hinges were broken and there were pry marks on the inside of the panel door. The plastic lock for the electrical meter was also missing, and a hook used to secure it was bent. Police are continuing their investigation into the case of criminal mischief. Arrest records released by the Holmdel Police Dept. on March 23, 2012. March 17:  Holmdel Police responded to a 2 vehicle accident at 727 North Beers Street. Investigation revealed that Dana Smith of Middletown backed out of a parking space and struck a vehicle being operated by Devangi Patel of Piscataway. Smith was issued a summons for Driving While Suspended. March 17:  Seth Napp of West Keansburg was placed under arrest for Driving While Suspended after a motor vehicle stop by Ptl.
