CentraState Offers Vaccinations to the Community

Hospital is offering the flu, Tdap and pneumococcal vaccinations.

CentraState Medical Center is keeping residents healthy this winter by providing the seasonal flu, Tdap and pneumococcal vaccinations to the public at CentraState’s Star and Barry Tobias Health Awareness Center. The seasonal flu vaccine costs $20 and will only be administered to people 4-years-old or older. The Tdap vaccine protects against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis. All are serious, potentially deadly illnesses caused by bacteria. Highly contagious infections in newborns, such as Pertussis or whooping cough, are particularly severe and can be fatal to infants under 12 months. The Tdap vaccine costs $50 and is recommended for children 11 years of age and older and adults who will have direct contact with an infant less than 12 …

CentraState Delivers Monmouth's First Baby of the New Year

Mikayla Elizabeth Denver was born at 1:57 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 1.

Two Freehold residents brought in 2013 by becoming parents and welcoming in the first baby born in the New Year in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Noelle Deluccio and Nick Dever welcomed their first baby, Mikayla Elizabeth Dever, weighing 8 pounds 3 ounces, at CentraState Medical Center shortly before 2 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 1. Mikayla was delivered naturally by Elizabeth Scheff, MD, ob/gyn, of Healthy Woman Ob/Gyn, CentraState announced in a press release. CentraState presented the Dever family with a $100 Visa gift card, balloons and a stuffed animal to celebrate the birth of their daughter.  Both Deluccio and the baby are healthy and doing well.
