Updated: Holmdel Fire Departments Could Be Under One Umbrella

The Township Committee will vote on March 19 to potentially bring the two fire companies under one budget and chief.

Correction as of March 12: This ordinance has not yet passed, according to Chief Doug Ziemba. It will be on the Township Committee agenda on March 19. This article was originally published on March 6. The Holmdel Township Committee may vote to bring its two fire companies under one name. "It's going back to the way Holmdel used to be," Impreveduto said. "Nothing is really going to change, the companies will stay the same and the men will stay the same." I can't urge you enough to support our local fire companies and first responders, as I am glad I have done. You just never think it will happen to you. …

Holmdel Fire & Rescue Company #2 Thanks Donors

Chief John Boyle Sr. explains how the donations are spent. The squad, one of two in Holmdel, is located on Centerville Road, off Route 35.

The Holmdel Fire and Rescue Company #2 would like to thank the residents and businesses of Holmdel for their support in our spring fund drive. This year 48% of residents of the north side of town donated to the fire company. The largest donation of $2,900 came from Karl and Barbara Lee Brand of Holmdel. This generous donation will fund one entire new set of turn out gear. We also had one other donation of $2,000, and four families that donated $1,000. Fifteen families donated over $500.   The following businesses also donated funds to the company: Amanda's Hallmark, Dearborn Market, Cosmetic Essence, Inc., Suburban Services, Inc., Atlantic Tree Services, Vonage, and Bayshore Hospital. Currently, this is less than 3% of the business of …
