Marlboro Planning Board Shoots Down Northpointe
The township will return to court with the developer over the matter.
After months of continued public hearings regarding the Northpointe multi-unit housing development in Marlboro, the township planning board voted no on Wednesday to the proposed construction. The development, a result of the Council on Affordable Housing regulations set for state municipalities, is a 385 unit complex, 85 of which will be considered affordable housing. The site is off of Nolan Road, on the Aberdeen border. Since January, Ohad Associates has sat before the board, detailing environmental, traffic and building concerns. However, Mayor Jon Hornik said they didn't do enough. Jay--not sure about the taxes, curious about that--will look into it. As for the contamination: what research I have done on Entron has told me all of these developments will be built, court ordered. Previous administrations had plans for Camelot to be built on Stattel Farms (dating back to some archived News Transcript articles).
