Holmdel's Jack Baisley, Andrew Tsai, Dan Barlev, Aaron Barlev, Eric Williams, Nick De Maio, and Anton Luz ran a thrilling race for Holmdel. Individually, senior Jack Baisley took third place in the race. Baisley had also led the Hornets to win the Nov. 10 Sectional Championships in Delsea. Four of Christian Brothers Academy's top seven cross-country team runner have returned from the 2011 National Championship Team. Already, they are showing improvement.
Coming off its first national title and 17th Meet of Champions title, the Christian Brothers Academy cross-country team has its eyes set on another potential historic season. “We just want to be the best that we can possibly be,” head coach Tom Heath said. “We need to get to where they can run.” Seniors Jack Boyle of Avon, Bill Bragg of Middletown, and Aaron Liberatore of Marlboro and junior Mike McClemens of Millstone are the four returners from last year’s top seven. “I don’t think any of us will be happy unless we return and win the national championship again,” Bragg said. The team already indicated signs of being better than the 2011 squad. Heath said that during their preseason time trial on Friday, they averaged a school record 9:29…

Win in Oregon completes a dream season for the unbeatable runners.
CBA is now officially the best cross country team the nation! The regional boys academy in Lincroft won the 8th Nike Cross Nationals (NXN) Finals Saturday in a dramatic finish against a contender from Texas. It was the first time the team -- always a dominant force -- has won the honor. The race was held in Portland Meadows Race Track, Portland (Ore.) Accounts from the race describe the boys pulled off a heart-thumping late-race surge. Coach Tom Heath's team included standouts George Kelly, Billy Bragg, Mike McClemons, Conrad Lippert, Aaron Liberatore and Jack Boyle. As usual, the team was cheered on by its reliable -- and loud! -- fan base of friends and family. Here are some links to coverage by sports journalists who witnessed the race…

Scott Thomsen’s overtime goal brings home state soccer championship for the school.
The Christian Brothers Academy soccer team defeated Delbarton 1-0 in overtime to win its fourth Non-Public “A” State Title and first since 2002. With the win, the Colts finished the season with a perfect 21-0 record. THE GAME — IN SHORT The Colts played a ball control game in the first half dominating possession time but had few good scoring chances as the Delbarton defense was able to keep CBA on the outside. The second half started much more wide open with both teams’ offenses able to move the ball up the field. Delbarton had its best chance early in the second half as forward Mike Moshier was able to get past the Colts' defense down the right side and come in alone on keeper Steve Donato. Moshier’s shot just missed the left post as it …
