American Properties at Middletown is proposing a housing development for wooded land at Route 35 South and Taylor Lane in Middletown, near the Holmdel border. According to a public notice published on Nov. 21 in the Asbury Park Press, the developer is seeking approval for 245 multifamily units on approximately 31 acres. The proposed use includes 196 market rate multifamily 'stackable townhomes' and 49 affordable multifamily 'flat' units, along with a 3,600 square foot clubhouse and a pool for the community. Traffic light, jughandle and turn signal improvements, as well as a realignment of the northern portion of Taylor Lane to run directly across from Cherry Tree Farm Road, are also part of the plan.
