Holmdel Township has both curbside pickup and drop-off recycling services. Recycling is mandatory. Newspaper, bottles,More mixed paper and cardboard are picked up on different days determined by neighborhood. Brush is picked up curbside. Residents may take advantage of large item drop-off days, held on select Saturdays. The collection is coordinated by the Department of Public Works Recycling Coordinator. 
Holmdel Fire and Rescue Company No. 2
11 Centerville Rd, Holmdel, NJ 07733
Formed in 2006, the Holmdel Fire Company Number 2 is run by volunteers. It services the portion of Holmdel on the northMore side of town, as divided by the Garden State Parkway. The building, equipment and fire trucks are puchased by the township. It shares a building with the First Aid squad. The Fire Company is staffed with youthful members, most of whom are residents of nearby Hazlet and former mcmbers of the North Centerville Fire Company there. In addition to its website, members maintain a Facebook page with photos of recent blazes. The fire company does not have a rental hall nor liquor license. In January,  John Boyle Sr. will be promoted to chief.  The township department chief is Tom Savage.
