Robert Madsen, 86, of Hazlet, passed away, Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Bayshore Health Care Center, Holmdel. Born in Perth Amboy, he resided there before moving to Hazlet. He worked for Tenneco, Edison, as a technical supervisor, for 30 years, retiring in 1989. He served his country in the Navy during World War II. Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife, Joan Polacastro Madsen; and his many brothers and sisters. Phillip Paul Daniele, 88, died Thursday, May 2. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, he had a 34 year career at Bell Labs in Holmdel, where his work with the US Department of Defense and Space Program earned him several patents. A decorated US Army WWII veteran and a POW in Germany, he was awarded the Bronze Star. His family includes his wife of 61 years, Eileen Daniele; son, Phillip Daniele, Jr. of Miami FL; son, John Daniele and his wife, Kathleen of Oviedo FL; grandchildren, Marie Wall, her husband Justin Wall and Thomas Daniele; and his sister, Jenny Monaco. Thomas H. Holz, 68, of Holmdel, passed away at home on Sunday, May 5, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Thomas was born on Jan. 17, 1945 in East Orange. He was raised in West Keansburg and in 1965 settled in Holmdel. He retired as a production Manager for Loreal Hair Care Company. He was predeceased by his father, Max Henry Holz and his brother, Arthur Holz. Thomas is survived by his beloved mother, Elsie A. Kleinhenz Holz and his loving brothers, Philip Holz and his wife Marie of Toms River, Robert Holz and his wife Janet of Neptune; his nephews, Philip Holz Jr. and Bobby Holz; his nieces, Mary Louise Wheat, along with many great nieces and nephews. John M. Ferrador, 73, of Howell Township passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Elizabeth and lived most of his life in Cranford. John had also lived in Hazlet before moving to Howell Township in 2000. He was an Electronics Technician for over 20 years. During his career, he had been employed by a number of companies including Audio Visual Labs in Atlantic Highlands and EWC Controls in Englishtown. He retired in 2001. John, who enjoyed sailing with his family, was a former member of the Hazlet Township Zoning Board of Adjustment, a former Weeblo Leader for Cub Scout Pack 137 in Hazlet, and a communicant of the Church of St. Veronica. Cornelia Jane Altier, 81, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Lincroft, Red Bank and Matawan, died peacefully Monday, April 29, 2013, at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. Cornelia was born in Queens, NY to Peter and Mabel Buchanan Johnston. She attended Our Lady of Mercy Academy in Syosset, NY. She then went on to earn her BA in English from the College of New Rochelle. At the age of 68, Cornelia was one of the oldest recipients of a heart transplant. The donated heart continued for 14 years, a courageous journey for science. She enjoyed her family and friends, travel and good food. She was happily employed as a Red Bank YMCA director, an antique business owner, and as a librarian at the Red Bank Public Library. Her favorite job was teaching; …

John was born in New York City and has resided in Holmdel for the past 26 years. Mr. Scagnelli was the former president of the HYAA, a former Holmdel Planning Board Member, and was also a parishioner of St. Catharine's R.C. Church in Holmdel. Elizabeth E. Newbauer, 90, of Holmdel passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born and raised in Union City, she lived in Hazlet prior to moving to Holmdel in 1977. She graduated from St. Mary's Nursing School in Hoboken as a Registered Nurse and worked in that capacity as a private duty, welfare, school, and doctors office nurse. For most of her career she worked as nursing supervisor, head nurse and employee health nurse for Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. Madeline M. Mihovich, 83, of Holmdel, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at her home. Heaven is very lucky today, for they have received a very special angel. A true gift from God, our mom and grandma. She was born Madeline M. Walko on Nov. 7, 1929 in PA. In 1939, she moved to NJ, and four years ago settled in Holmdel. Madeline was the past president of Ladies Auxiliary VFW Camptown Post 1941 in Irvington. Anthony was born on April 5, 1999 in Red Bank, New Jersey and spent his entire life living in Hazlet, New Jersey.
