Great presentation last night by the Somerset team.
Having Toll Brothers involved with the…Read More housing component makes me very comfortable that this will be a first-class development that Holmdel deserves.
While it aint over until its over, looks like the closing of the property is very close to happening and I'm glad to see some progress being made.

It was an interesting presentation last night. Unfortunately, Ralph Zucker showed his true colors…Read More with his reply to the question regarding why the plan went from 30 housing units to 225. He offered no reasonable explanation aside from what appeared to be retribution for the rejection of his plans a number of years ago. While I understand there might not be a viable alternative, the people and government of Holmdel would be best advised to be careful around Zucker and his company. He is clearly not an honest and trustworthy “partner”. He will change his plans at any opportunity, cheating the town and our community on his promises. Remember, he is in this for profit – he has no connection to Holmdel or our community and, despite what he might say, is really focused on maximizing his company’s profit.

My concerns include the potential for much more traffic and congestion in the area. Are they also…Read More considering widening of the roads? I hope not because they have already done this in the past and many of us lost over 10 feet of frontage. I do not relish sitting right on the road so be wary.

Same ole, same ole! Never let the Federal Government know that things are going well and you're…Read More happy in your job ... 'cuz then they move the whole installation!!!! Bigger has to be better and quality takes a hit ... your favorite and dependable little eating place with the best food becomes 'ho hum' and just an afterthought!!!! Here we go again!!! ... The Patch was a peacefully, affordable neighborhood program .. informative .. dependable .. and, now has acquired a larger, daily readership, so you MUST redesign to a more "GOTCHA", complicated, conglomerate style!!!! Folks, bigger is not always better .. just ahead on the horizon ... peacefully, affordable neighborhood program becomes a commercial nightmare, and will be available ONLY to paid subscribers who can afford it.

Looks nice, but all the photos I posted in my events are no longer there. Do I have to go back to…Read More each event and edit them? Also, we used to have user names that showed up instead of our full names...how do we change it back to our user names?

It is an amazing thing. Saw it a few years back with a Scout troop. Too bad it's not located…Read More somewhere where all can see. Glad you could come out here to see it.

20 yr contract is ridiculous, the technology will probably be obsolete or 100 times cheaper by then.…Read More It still takes the same amount of time to get from bay head to ny as it did 30 years ago - this outfit is not one for big innovations or improvements. 3 years to implement? wtf

John W I am skeptical of anything this builder has to say specifically because of his record. That…Read More includes his being on the master plan committee, that includes his building senior housing that he then claims there is no market for in NJ, then saying he can build it here. That includes his being sued by taxpayers in Lakewood for for building on township owned land, for tens of millions of dollars in lost equity from a land swap from town to yeshiva to Somerset.....if he doesn't care what the taxpayers in his own town think, why would he care what taxpayers here want or think?
I think I have reason to be skeptical about this project, and although I believe that the TC has the best interests of the town in mind, I think they don't do big real estate deals every day and neither do the township attorneys. I think Somersets's attorneys can eat us for lunch if they want to. Yes, you are right, I don't like him. But I do care what other people say, I just want facts to back it up. Successful project in Bergen county? Does it have a name?

I just believe people choose their specific words for a reason. Mr Zucker did not say he would…Read More never ask to lift any age restrictions. He said " we will not add 1 child to the school district" . He has gotten people to at least agree with what sound like " friendly" ideas - who doesn't like libraries? An adjunct to Brookdale or an online college? Well, none of those sound threatening ( like the prison or NASCAR ideas) but they also sound like non profit entities to me. When you agree to the idea of a school , then how can you object to the specific school that they find to fill the place? We only Get one shot to get this right. Better to be a skeptic now than a fool later.

I was awakened by this 4:00 am call. We jumped out of bed thinking the worse of course, only for it…Read More to be this robo call.

I too was awakened. If it was one house, fine. But this rang the phones in hundreds of houses and…Read More there should be some accountability and punishment.
