what's the cost of 400 dollar pot bust...
Coffeenut April 23, 2014 at 05:47 pm
The cost is almost a human life. Is it really worth it to harrass people and ruin their lives andRead More almost die? Nope not at all. Cops get what they deserve when they try to control/ruin people's lives. Totally needless.

There is no doubt when police officers are visible , it would certainly be a deterrent to crime! IRead More agree with placing NJ State Police in high crime areas, I just don't know how well they are equipped to handle crimes other than traffic stops and protection of Gov. Christie! These state police officers although very highly trained, rarely deal with domestic violence, street or bar brawls, burglaries in progress, stabbings and shootings all within an urban environment. I am not trying to demean The NJ State Police but just stating the fact that they lack the experience that an urban police officer has!
Mr. Happy April 23, 2014 at 03:32 pm
Hi Linda - when the State Police are tasked to one of the cities (Newark, Trenton, Camden,Read More Irvington), they go in as a pro-active force, not re-active; that is to say, they won't be engaging in the response to domestics, bar brawls, etc. The mission is to initiate criminal investigations thru contact with potential violators in high crime areas. It works, at least in the short term.

Thanks@Mr.Happy I wasn't quite sure what role they would play! Agree with you, it would workRead More temporarily!

Eric Rudolph was a racist, anti-semetic, militant, twisted religious zealout, murdering psycopath,Read More not a "right wing fanatic." He was absent political bent.

Speedy trial? Define speedy. Charles Manson and company committed the Tate/LaBianca murders inRead More 1969. The trial wasn’t until two years later. It took over a year before Jack Ruby went on trial for shooting Oswald. And the entire nation saw him do that on TV. The infamous Boston Strangler was caught in early 1964 but wasn’t sentenced until 1967. Its only on Law & Order that it goes from commission of the crime to sentencing in an hour.

Inside the Holmdel Firehouse, helmets are pinned on the wall.

Lets see how this whole thing turns out if it works great. If it doesn't and people die .. TheRead More words... I Am Sorry it was a bad idea downsizing the fire co. For the record I won't have blood on my hands if this idea doesn't work. I will be able to sleep at night knowing I tried very hard to stop this from happening to the innocent pawns that are the people of Holmdel. Everyone one that was involved will be held accountable for their part in this. This is my final message here. God bless the people of Holmdel

God bless the people of NJ. I laugh and watch the in fighting between the vollies that don't wantRead More there local bar shut down. Residents of NJ pray that the state of NJ makes a countywide system, through their countywide 911 system, and include Monoc who are the only people trained to a paramdic level that will be able to make a differencebin your life if it was at risk before you get to a hospital. Put one station in every ten square miles, put a paid staff in place, where you will get trained professionals to your emergency, not ring the bell and hope they come..and hope someone comes that knows what they are doing. OH I forgot this won't happen, because the municipalities have the burden of the bills, and the equipment, and hell the workers are free, so why fix something that isn't broke? IT IS BROKE, you just don't know it yet because when u finally need help and don't just need a ride to the hospital, or a small brush fire, when your baby is trapped down the end of a burning hallway, or a high rise fire that probably the entire force has not fought yet, happens then you will, but it won't matter because emergencies like this happen to a small number of residents living in this state. Why is there MONOC? Because it produces revenue. Why so many "traffic" cops because it produces revenue, why not a paid fire service? Because its free to an extent...so frustrating.
