Selecting a preschool for your child is perhaps one the most daunting and nerve wracking decisions a parent can make. Being a particularly "selective" parent and having had years of experience working in preschools I made sure to tour all 20 preschools within a 15 mile radius of my home. I toured everything from little church run schools that had a quaint charm to the most expensive of academies that boasted academic based, school-like environments. The Goddard School in Hazlet was the best of both worlds. There, my daughter was able to receive the highest level of academic learning in a loving and nurturing environment.
The staff here made my daughter feel special and secure everyday she walked into the building. Everyone from the on-site owners, to the directors to her teachers greeted her by name each day and took a direct interest in her social and academic development. One of the owners, Mr. Doug, even knew enough to make extra pancakes for my daughter of his famous Pancake Days... on which he dons a chefs hat a apron when personally delivering the pancakes to the classes!
The academics at this school are second to none. Everyday my daughter came home with a daily sheet highlighting the ways in which they worked to reinforce the eight different curricular goals for the day, along with some personal notes about her day.
