Police Chief John Mioduszewski leads the Holmdel Police Department, located in Town Hall. Currently there are 40 sworn officers in the department. 

Offices include Chief's Office, Patrol Commander,  Traffic Safety, and Detective Bureau. Specialized units include bike patrol, K-9, DWI enforcement, Training, Dispatch, Honor Guard and Traffic Safety.

The department oversees the following programs: Neighborhood Watch, Youth Academy, Juvenile Conference Committee, Drug and Alcohol Alliance, Victims Rights, Domestic Violence Response Team, Senior Citizen services and I.D.s, Neighborhood Dispute, Code Red phone alert system and Police Explorers.

Three special officers attend municipal court nights.

Police Records, permits and criminal history check services are available. 

Animal control is handled by Middletown Township.
