Holmdel Girl Scout Troop 1248 Volunteers at Lunch Break

Hot breakfast being served by Girl Scouts

My Junior Girl Scout Troop 1248 were thrilled that they were finally old enough to volunteer at “Lunch Break” on a Saturday morning! Lunch Break  is a social service agency, located in Red Bank NJ. They provide daily meals, clothing, food pantry supplies and special programs to those less fortunate. Along with their families, the girls helped stock the pantry, pack grocery bags, serve hot breakfast meals to approximately 70 visitors, and clean-up.

As the Troop Leader, I believe it’s all about giving and assisting those in need all the time. We always support a good cause and host multiple drives within our community throughout the year.  It was a warm, humbling experience for all of us we will definitely be returning. The girls of Troop 1248 urge you to reach out and help Lunch Break by donating your time, groceries, gift cards, household items, clothing or simply by making a monetary donation….they promise it will fill your soul!
