Alex's Lemonade Stand Open for Business Sunday at Cross Farm Park

Holmdel's Jessica Sammut asks the community to come by the stand at Cross Farm Park, and support an effort by children to help other kids with cancer.

Our family is hosting a lemonade stand Sunday, June 12 at Cross Farm Park to raise money for an organization called Alex's Lemonade Stand.

This is a foundation that was created by four-year old Alex Scott (1996-2004) who was diagnosed with cancer and wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer.

My three children, Hannah, Jack, and Benjamin came up with the idea of asking Cross Farm Park in Holmdel, NJ to allow us to use their facility to raise awareness and maximize their fundraising efforts. Once we explained our cause Cross Farm graciously waived the park fee. The Stallions, Holmdel's local sports team agreed to not sell lemonade at the concession stand that day.

There is no price for the lemonade, we just ask for a donation to the cause. We will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the covered Pavilion.

Since its inception this foundation has raised over $40 million from devoted volunteers, businesses and corporations and individual families like ours who are dedicated to help continue the dream Alex set out to achieve.
