Holmdel Girls Varsity Soccer beat Colts Neck; On to the SCT Quarter Finals

The Holmdel Girls Soccer team scored 1 goal in the first half, a pass by sophomore forward, Gabriella Bair, to junior midfielder, Catherine Cirigliano.  But, one goal was all it took, as #5 seed, Holmdel, defeated #12 Colts Neck at home this afternoon.  This was the second round of the Shore Conference tournament.  Holmdel had a bye in the first round and now moves on to face Central Regional on Monday at home.  #13 Central Regional upset the defending Shore Conference Tournament Champions, #4 Toms River North, earlier today 2-1.  

Goalkeeper Helen Burleigh had an outstanding day in goal to earn the shut out for Holmdel.

This is the Holmdel Girls Varsity Soccer team's first trip to the Shore Conference quarter finals in years.  Please come out and cheer them on.  I will be there Monday.  The projected game time is 3 pm at Roggy field.  I hope to see you there.
