A Clean Sweep against Monmouth Regional for Holmdel Boys and Girls Soccer

Both Holmdel Soccer teams completed a sweep of Monmouth Regional today as the Girls won 3-0 and the Boys 4-0.

The Girls travelled to Tinton Falls to play Monmouth Regional for the second time this year.  In their earlier meeting, Holmdel won 4-0.  Today, Monmouth Regional gave up 2 own goals,  and Holmdel added a third goal in the second half, by senior midfielder, Jessica Moskal, for the 3-0 win.  That was Moskal's 10th goal of the season.  Goalkeepers Helen Burleigh and Kelly Dronne combined for the 4th shutout of this year.   Holmdel Girls Varsity Soccer record now stands at 10-1-0 (9-0-0).  The Girls next play on Thursday against Red Bank Catholic at home on Roggy field at 5:30 p.m.  This is an important divisional game as RBC is in second place in Holmdel's A Central Division.  Holmdel beat RBC 2-1 in their last meeting in September.

Meanwhile, back at home, our Boys hosted Monmouth Regional, having beated them 6-0 when they last met in September.  Jack Flanagan had 2 goals today for Holmdel and Gino D'Agostino and Rohan Gandhi each added another for the 4-0 win. Goalkeeper Tyler Marchiano picked up his 6th shutout of the season. The Boys are now 9-1-1 (7-1-1).

The Boys wore pink socks today in support of breast cancer awareness month.  Keep a look out for them sporting the pink socks throughout the month.  The Boys next play away on Thursday, against Red Bank Catholic, at 3:45p.m.  This is the second meeting for these two teams this year.  Holmdel won the last game 3-2.

I'll be heading out to both games on Thursday.  I am looking forward to having you join me.  I'll see you there.
