HFEE Supports the HHS PAC by Focusing Fundraising Efforts on Stage Lights
HFEE Focuses Fundraisng Efforts on PAC Stage Lights.
Holmdel’s commitment to the arts just received a significant boost by the HFEE’s vote to focus its fundraising efforts this year on the purchase of stage lights for the Holmdel High School Performing Arts Center (PAC). This decision follows a vote by the HFEE last year to donate a sound system for the PAC.
The PAC, which is home to choral and band performances, theatre and dance productions, academic and athletic award nights, honor society induction ceremonies, talent shows, and various other District wide events, was in need of technology upgrades which began last June. With major renovations underway, the HFEE generously donated a digital sound system to the PAC thereby seizing an opportunity to make critical enhancements to the District’s Visual and Performing Arts Program at the perfect time. The new sound system is all-digital and operated remotely allowing not only enhanced performances but the opportunity for students who run the system to learn to use modern theatrical technology.
As a follow up to last year’s donation and in partnership with the District which installed state-of-the-art dimmer, control cabinets and lighting boards behind the stage as part of its renovation, this year the HFEE has committed to focus its fund raising efforts on donating stage lighting to the PAC.

The PAC is used by both Satz and High School students regularly as well as District students affiliated with private organizations such as dance and theatre companies who pay to use the venue. A recent study which found a real link between strong arts programs and higher achievement helped the HFEE to make the decision to continue its financial commitment to the PAC for 2012-2013. This lighting system will not only enhance the aesthetics of all future perfomrances but will also, like the newly installed sounds system, provide a previously unavailable learning opportunity for any student looking to pursue a career in stage production.
The margin of excellence at Holmdel District Schools is becoming increasingly more difficult to maintain due to state mandated budget caps and reduced state aid. The Arts, more than any other area of the curriculum, have been impacted by budget restraints. We ask you to take this opportunity to help the HFEE’s efforts in creating a District-wide state of the art PAC. This venue is eventually be used by all District students. It serves as a centerpiece for the District in many ways. These enhancements will positively impact our students educational experience.
We have a variety of ways that you can become a part of this wonderful effort:
